Kristián (Kriste) Badarovský is a young Czech pianist, composer, teacher, and organizer of music events across Europe. He began playing the piano at the age of nine and completed his musical education in 2012 at the Prague Conservatory under the guidance of leading Czech professors Eva Boguniová and František Maxian Jr. During his studies, he specialized in early music performance on the harpsichord, composition, and pedagogy.Throughout his education, he attended numerous international piano courses and worked personally with many renowned pianists and pedagogues, including Alfred Brendel, Ivo Pogorelich, Joukut Mihailovich, Boris Romanov, Nikolai Lugansky, Eugen Indjic, Emanuel Ax, and Garrick Ohlsson.
Badarovský is a prizewinner and finalist of several national and international competitions. In 2007, he entered his first international competition in Serbia, where he became the overall winner (Laureate). In 2014, he reached the final of the multi-genre piano competition Pianist of the Year, a highly demanding event consisting of five rounds that required performances in a wide range of musical styles. The competition was sponsored by the renowned Czech piano manufacturer Petrof and took place at the prestigious Boscolo – Karel IV Hotel in Prague, with live broadcasts on Czech Television and Czech Radio. In the final round, Badarovský placed fourth. In 2015, he won second prize at the international piano competition Alexander & Buono in New York and subsequently performed at the renowned Carnegie Hall. Kristián currently collaborates closely with the distinguished piano manufacturer C. Bechstein, presenting their instruments and organizing music events for both young audiences and adults. He also teaches at several state music schools in the Prague region, where he provides instruction in both classical and popular piano. Together with his students, he organizes concerts and community events and regularly participates in state competitions, achieving notable awards and recognition.
In 2016, Badarovský released his debut solo album ABeCeDA, featuring relaxing and meditative solo piano music. A companion sheet music book containing his compositions was published later. He frequently performs with the Academy of Sciences Chamber Orchestra and the Nymburk Chamber Orchestra, interpreting repertoire ranging from the Baroque period to contemporary music. Badarovský is also in demand as an accompanist and chamber musician, valued for his sensitivity and ability to collaborate creatively with leading artists from the Czech Republic and abroad. For this reason, he is a regular guest at numerous music festivals and artistic projects.
